Overview of MPLS Bootcamp - Beginner to Advanced

MPLS Bootcamp – Beginner to Advanced is a comprehensive, hands-on training program designed to help network engineers and IT professionals master Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) from fundamentals to advanced, real-world deployment scenarios. This course is structured to gradually build your understanding, starting with basic concepts and moving toward complex MPLS VPN designs used in enterprise and service provider networks.

You will begin by learning why MPLS is used, how it differs from traditional IP routing, and how label switching enables efficient and scalable packet forwarding. Core MPLS concepts such as labels, Label Switched Paths (LSPs), Forwarding Equivalence Classes (FECs), and the MPLS data plane and control plane are explained clearly using practical examples.

As the course progresses, you will gain hands-on experience configuring an MPLS core, implementing MPLS L3VPNs, and understanding PE–CE routing using protocols such as Static, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. You will learn how MP-BGP is used to carry VPNv4 routes, how VRFs are created and maintained, and how traffic flows end-to-end through an MPLS VPN.

Advanced topics including OSPF sham links, domain ID, super backbone, MPLS VPN extranets, route reflectors, and real-world troubleshooting techniques are covered to give you a deep and practical understanding of MPLS operations. The course also includes detailed lab demonstrations using EVE-NG to help you apply what you learn in a realistic environment.

By the end of this course, you will be able to design, configure, verify, and troubleshoot MPLS networks, confidently explain MPLS concepts in interviews, and apply MPLS skills in real production environments.
